“The Dark Ivy”-CH1,P1

The dark Ivy, Chapter-1, part-1

“I’m listening,” he said with a very soft and relaxed voice.

I spent the last several days at the hospital in this compound. I have not seen him since 11 days ago in the woods. I was barely paying attention to him back then. Today he was sitting on an armchair. I saw his long legs, so I assumed he was tall. He had very short hair; they all had to shave their head before I got here because of the lice.

He was wearing a black jumpsuit and a dark green vest. He looked so comfortable like he had everything under control. Don’t get it wrong; he was not a psychiatrist. He was more like someone who talks to you, so you get better and do what you are there to do.

Sunbeams came from the window on his face, in his golden eyes. His deep look made you feel like you could tell him all your deepest darkest secrets.

Like a predator that mesmerizes you with its grace and glory, he patiently waited for you to fall in his trap. In a precise, intimate way no one has ever experienced, he paved the path for you to reach him as your dream comes true. Even his name was glorious, Jake the second. Like he was some royalty. Well, Royalty doesn’t mean anything anymore. There were more important things happening in the world.

I was staring at him, trying to find out what was going on in his mind. And no, I didn’t trust him at all! I didn’t feel comfortable in a room with him. It was because the life I had, made me trust no one. It was sunny outside but my hands were cold as ice. I looked at him, and waited for him to begin.

Then it was his turn, looking at me, admiring me, breathing in my aroma, and going for his hunt. And yes, my mind was exaggerating at that moment. I didn’t even know him. It has been a long time I have not seen anyone else, well, except for Matilda.

“Tell me how you feel, Ivy,” he said eagerly and lay back in his armchair.

I could still feel the warmth of the sun on my cheeks, but I was cold; I was panting, couldn’t breathe like there was no more oxygen left in the room. I looked at my hands and tried to remember what had happened that night.

“Something happened.” calmly I said and looked up at him. “ but I can’t remember what exactly.” I was panicking again. I could not remember what I did with that baby. My heart was beating faster and faster every second.

“Close your eyes, take a deep breath and let’s go in there together,” he said. I didn’t want to go there with him. It felt very insecure to open up to him, especially for someone like me who has so many secrets. But I had to convince him somehow to get out of the room. I closed my eyes and tried to remember that night.
